How to pass BEC fast?

BEC CPA Exam Strategies – Generally, the BEC is known as the easiest part of the CPA exam. That gives you a few options to approach it. You can take it first in order to get it over with quickly, or you can take it last so you end on an easier note. Either way is a valid option, so it’s up to you to decide when you want to take this test.

The most effective way to prepare for the BEC exam is to take practice exams with a review course from Becker or Surgent, Doing so will give you valuable experience with both the content and format. Plus, if you include a similar time limit you can work on your time management and answer speed. Easily the most important (yet most ignored) strategy is to eat a healthy breakfast before the exam and get a good rest the night before.

If you can do that, then you’ll have much more energy throughout the exam. On top of that, you’ll be able to answer questions faster because your mind will be working at 100%. As stated before, the BEC is the easiest of the 4 tests involved in the CPA exam. Make sure you study the concepts we’ve discussed throughout this article. If you do so, passing the test is all but guaranteed!

How To Beat Bec Test Finally finished what was a long journey to becoming a CPA and I could not have done it without the help of Vishal! I had 3 parts passed (FAR, AUD, & REG) and could not pass BEC and after talking to a colleague who also used Vishal I was ultimately able to pass BEC. Vishal methods, tutelage and overall experience with these exams is second to none. Thomas Porricelli, CPA, CFE, August 2021 After getting a 74 on BEC I reached out to Vishal. I used his study notes as my main study material and did about 6 zoom study sessions within 4 weeks. Nvard Patrikyan, April 2021 So far I’ve worked with Vishal since December 2019 in preparation for the CPA. He has undoubtedly helped me, not only by simplifying the material itself, but also encouraging and motivating me along the way. Since we’ve started working together, I have passed both BEC and REG and will continue to tutor with Vishal for the remaining two sections of the CPA.

Why is BEC the easiest?

What CPA Exam is the Easiest-CPA Exam CPA exam candidates always seem to want to know which section is the hardest and which section is the easiest. Some prefer to start with the hardest section to get it over with while others prefer to start with the easiest section to avoid being overwhelmed or discouraged or to build momentum.

As a CPA candidate, you must be mindful of testing windows, blackout months, and the fact that, as soon as you pass your first exam section, you must pass all three remaining sections within eighteen months or face losing credit for the section(s) you passed. Given these time constraints, it’s smart to consider the order in which you will take the exams.

By starting with the hardest exam section, you can prevent that eighteen month clock from beginning to tick until you’ve mastered the most difficult section. Since you only have 18 months to pass this very difficult 4 section exam, this makes sense. On the other hand, some feel that starting with the hardest exam might put the in the unenviable position of having to take it multiple times to pass.

  1. In the meantime, they would have no exam credit to show in exchange for a significant amount of effort, which can be very demoralizing.
  2. Starting with the least difficult section or the section that you are most comfortable with can give you the confidence and momentum you need to keep going.
  3. So which section is the easiest? Based on the pass rates, Business Environment and Concepts (BEC) seems to be the least difficult.

With over a 50% pass rate, the BEC section’s pass rate was several percentage points higher than each of the other three sections. There are several reasons why the BEC section is considered the easiest section of the four. In addition to the fact that it covers the least material and is of the shortest of the four exam sections, BEC also does not have any simulation questions; however, it does contain 3 written communication questions.

Many who have taken all four exam sections also feel that the BEC exam material is fairly straightforward and lacks the same potential for getting lost in details, formulas, and conceptual applications as many of the other sections. The bottom line is that the order in which you take the exams is a personal preference and can be partially based on your particular educational background and experience.

However, consider the fact that taking the easier sections first can make the harder sections seem even more difficult than they are in comparison. After you’ve devoted the study and test-taking time required to pass other exam sections, facing the hardest section last can feel like you’re trying to go uphill at the end of a long race.

  1. For this reason, most CPAs and instructors recommend starting with the hardest exam first and ending with the easiest, allowing you to “coast” to a finish and successfully pass all four sections.
  2. Once you’ve decided what order you plan to take your exams, the next step is to create a study plan so that you’ll be able to pass each exam section within the eighteen month window.

You should also make sure to plan for testing windows and blackout months. Remember, once you pass an exam, you must pass the remaining exam sections within eighteen months, which gives you just six other testing windows. With the right planning and preparation, you’ll have the best chance of passing all four exams and,

Is Becker bump real?

The Becker Bump – When you practice taking Becker’s mock exams, you might be discouraged if your scores are low. How many hours to study for BEC with Becker?

CPA Exam stress – There are several factors that can cause the most CPA Exam anxiety. CPA Exam eligibility requirements The first major factor that may cause CPA Exam stress is determining whether you qualify to take the exam. It doesn’t help that the CPA Exam is offered in 54 jurisdictions and that every jurisdiction has its own rules regarding exam and licensure eligibility,

  1. Seriously?! The good news is that you don’t have to figure this out on your own.
  2. There are resources to help you find the eligibility requirements for the state or territory in which you plan to license.
  3. For example, we’ve created a complete guide to CPA requirements, with information on each jurisdiction.

We have done all the work for you – one CPA Exam anxiety eliminated! All you need to do is determine where you plan to license, look up their exam eligibility requirements and determine whether you meet them. If you don’t meet the requirements the good news is that you don’t need to worry about the CPA Exam, yet.

If you do meet the requirements, you move onto the next step in the process. CPA Exam application process The next major factor that may cause CPA Exam stress is applying for the exam. This may cause stress because of the front-end paperwork, exam cost, and time you will have to wait before you receive your Notice to Schedule (NTS).

Your best resource for the application process is the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) website. NASBA administers the CPA Exam in partnership with the AICPA. The NASBA website provides links to the exam application for every jurisdiction.

Another CPA Exam anxiety eliminated! You don’t have to search for the right application, NASBA will help you find it. Be prepared to spend some time filling out the application and providing supporting documentation, such as transcripts. Be prepared to pay for the CPA Exam when you register. The cost varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction but typically comes in at about $1000 for all four parts.

This causes the CPA stress level to shoot up for many candidates, but fortunately, some employers will pay for exam registration fees. Don’t be afraid to ask your company if they will relieve some of your financial stress by helping you cover this cost.

Finally, be prepared to wait a few weeks for your application to be approved. Waiting is stressful, but the approval process does take time. The best way to prevent CPA Exam stress related to the approval process is to submit your application 6-8 weeks before you plan to take your first exam. This is especially important if you want to take your exam at a busy time, such as over the weekend or at the end of a testing window.

You are more likely to get your desired exam date and time if you schedule early, and you cannot schedule your exam until your application is approved and you have your NTS. Studying for the CPA Exam Once you have eligibility and the application process out of the way, you enter the most stressful part of the CPA Exam preparation process – studying for the exam! This is where careful planning becomes very important.

  1. Although you might know someone, who knows someone, who studied for one week for the Financial Exam and got a 99, the reality is that most of us spend a significant amount of time studying for the CPA Exam.
  2. We recommend that you spend approximately 150 hours studying for the Financial section, 120 hours studying for the Regulation section, 90 hours studying for the Auditing section and 90 hours studying for the Business section.

Here are tips for stress while studying for the CPA Exam. Minimize your CPA Exam stress by setting up a realistic study plan using the Study Planner in the Becker course, Your study plan should be based on your personal circumstances. If you work full-time, you may only be able to study 10-20 hours each week, with most of your study time on Saturdays and Sundays.

  1. If this is your situation, don’t give yourself only four weeks to prepare for the Financial section because you won’t have enough time to get through all the study materials.
  2. If you try to cram 10-12 weeks of studying into four weeks, you are going to be extremely stressed and are setting yourself up for failure.

Procrastinating on your study plan Another major cause of CPA Exam stress while studying is procrastination. If you use the Study Planner and determine that you need 10 weeks to study for your next exam, that exam is going to seem far from when you begin studying.

Early in the process, it is easy to replace the hours that you planned to study with time for family or friends, or your favorite show on Netflix, or football, or hockey, or shopping, or any of the million other things that are more fun than studying for the exam. Although you might justify this as stress relief, your CPA Exam anxiety will reach new heights if you are two weeks from exam day and only halfway through your Becker course materials because you didn’t study as you should have during the previous eight weeks.

Sticking to your study plan isn’t always fun and does require some sacrifices. But it will save you from the stress of knowing on exam day that you aren’t properly prepared. Of course, there is nothing wrong with taking breaks while studying. Just don’t take those breaks during your designated study time.

Your study schedule should include time to step away from both work and studying to do things that you enjoy. In many ways, studying for the exam is like preparing for and then running a marathon. Your body and mind will get tired. To combat this mental and physical exhaustion, you need to use common sense and take care of yourself.

In addition to taking study breaks, you need to make sure that you get enough sleep (7-9 hours per night), eat well and take time to exercise regularly. You may be tempted to sacrifice some of your healthy habits, like exercise or sleep, but your study time will be more effective if you are well-rested.

  • Also, exercise is a proven form of effective stress management.
  • Once you have finished your studying, you are ready to take the CPA Exam.
  • You might not feel ready (no one ever does), but if you have completed your Becker CPA Exam Review effectively, you’re likely Exam Day Ready SM and it’s time to take the plunge.

You may be tempted to reschedule your exam so that you have one more day, or one more week, or one more month to study, but procrastination is the number one reason why people don’t pass the CPA Exam. You are 100% guaranteed not to pass the exam if you don’t take the exam – so just do it!

How many hours a week do Big 4 auditors work?

I’m an auditor for a Big Four firm. Audit jobs don’t always have a good reputation: they pay less than some other Big Four jobs and offer less chance of making partner. But this is fine because there are other advantages. Unless it’s a busy period, I usually work a seven or eight-hour day and no more than 60 hours a week, with the occasional weekend.

  • This is a lot less than people work in investment banking jobs.
  • Even in really busy periods, we don’t work more than 70 hours a week.
  • This is because we’re often at client sites on the outskirts of the city and we can’t travel in and out late in the day – public transport doesn’t run 24/7.
  • Audit is not like investment banking where you’re on call all the time and they can make you work 100-hour weeks.

We’re never really expected to be online after 11pm. The other good thing about audit is that it’s a great stepping stone to another career. People here go onto jobs in investment banks, corporate strategy or consulting as well as staying in audit. Most people (including me) are just waiting to become qualified accountants before considering their options.

  1. Personally, I think I will qualify as an accountant and then study for the CFA ® exams,
  2. They’re cheaper than an MBA and I see a lot of my peers questioning whether an MBA is really worth it.
  3. With a CFA Charter and an accounting qualification, I think I can go into something like equity research: training as an accountant is a gentle introduction to these more demanding jobs in banks.

What to do if you fail to audit?

What to Do Next? – Recovering from a failed audit is not complicated. You only need to take time to perform a corrective action. The certification body will provide you with enough time to correct the areas pointed out by the audit and find proof of the corrections made.

  • Suppose the audit report reveals that you have weak internal controls.
  • You need to address the situation by discussing how to strengthen internal controls and document the new procedures with the team or management.
  • It would be best if you communicated with your team because lack of communication can contribute to an audit failure.

The auditor will evaluate the evidence and change the audit status to “compliant.” An audit failure opens doors for continual improvement, but it should not happen frequently. Regular audit failures reveal that your organisation has inadequate or incomplete quality management system policies and procedures.

  • After a failed audit, you should conduct an internal review of your company’s systems.
  • This should be done across all departments in the organisation.
  • Reviewing your systems frequently allows you to identify and correct minor non-conformities before they worsen.
  • It is essential to communicate any updates or changes, or you risk being non-compliant in the future.

An internal audit is also an excellent way to prepare for the ISO audit. How To Beat Bec Test

Is it possible for an audit to fail?

June 23, 2022 / Steven Bragg Audit failure occurs when an auditor deviates from the applicable professional standards in such a way that the opinion contained in his or her audit report is false. Audit failures are frequently associated with inadequate auditor training, failure to exercise sufficient professional skepticism in evaluating management representations, not sufficiently evaluating client valuation estimates, essentially not engaging in any auditing activities at all, and/or creating inadequate audit documentation,

Some students find this makes the exam easier, but some do find WCTs to be harder than TBSs. Either way, BEC is considered the easiest part of the CPA exam because it has the highest pass rate.
